What a wonderful opportunity to prepare the hearts of your little ones for the season of hope found in Jesus! Sometimes it can be overwhelming on where or how to start! Here are the best hands-on Easter Devotional for preschoolers!

There’s an abundance of fantastic resources out there to assist in preparing your little one’s heart for Easter. I’ve tried quite a few, and I can confidently say that nothing compares to a hands-on devotional that engages your kids in play while helping them understand the profound concepts of Jesus’s Resurrection miracle!

Made New Creations

Before I became a mama, I was the kids’ director at my local church. It was such a fulfilling role, and I loved being able to serve my church community for over four years. But following the birth of my daughter and with two children under the age of two, I started feeling the call to embrace motherhood as a stay at home mama and I knew in my heart that it was time to step away. With all of that being said, I am passionate about looking up new and creative ways to teach the gospel to my little ones.

When I pray and think about how to teach my preschooler about Jesus, I first and foremost do not want to water down the importance of the debt Jesus paid for us. But I also want to make sure when I teach my little ones, that it is on their level. So, one of my favorite things to do is scroll through Pinterest to spark some great ideas! And that is when I stumbled upon Made New Creations. It just clicked for me – this was exactly what I was looking for!

What I saw in this image of a sensory bin with key items that would help my son grasp the concept of the event of Easter, I knew this really something special!

Receiving The Easter Sensory Kit.

I immediately ordered it when it was ready and available on the MadeNewCompany Shop on Etsy. When I received it, I was impressed by its packaging and everything that was included! It had everything needed to reenact the Easter story of Jesus, right down to a basket containing bread and a cup symbolizing wine, allowing us to retell the significance of the Last Supper and the meaning of communion for all of us!

I set up the Easter Sensory kit at my son’s table for him and just let him explore. Before long, he began asking questions such as, “What is this for?” “Who is this?” “What is this cross?” and “Is this Jesus?” And then we dove into what the sensory bin was and we retold the story of Easter.

It was such a joy to watch my son play with this Easter Sensory Kit. It is a creative way to see the story of Jesus and the huge debt He paid, unfold before his eyes! This sensory bin is incredibly effective in teaching preschoolers. It’s engaging, memorable, and promotes open play! All great wins for me as a mama, and that’s why this is the best hands-on Easter Devotional for preschoolers!

It is important to note that the Easter Sensory Kit is made for preschoolers 3+ years. There are smaller pieces in this kit and so you want to make sure you are watching your little one while playing with it. Honestly, this kit can really be utilized well when you are engaged with your little one! This sensory kit is a tool that when paired with right gospel centered books, can really make an impact on your preschooler!

The Right Gospel Centered Books to Pair with the Sensory Kit

There are many wonderful Easter books for little ones that focus on the gospel. Two of my top picks for preschoolers are “Easter is Coming” by Tama Fortner and “Jesus Rose for Me: The True Story of Easter” by Jared Kennedy. Both books excel at presenting the true gospel in a way that preschoolers can grasp. “Jesus Rose for Me” particularly does an excellent job of illustrating the Last Supper and communion.

Another reason that grabbed my attention to buy this kit is that MadeNewCompany showcased “Easter is Coming” in her images. While the book isn’t included in the kit, it’s suggested that it complements this sensory experience well!

I’m genuinely impressed by this little shop and feel compelled to share this resource with mamas who are eager to teach their kids about the gospel because it truly matters. Your child’s faith matters, and the time you spend with them matters. Just imagine, those moments of play while teaching them about Jesus will become cherished memories passed down for generations. What a glorious and truly wonderful thing!
