Did you know that Easter is on March 31st this year?! I just peeked at the calendar and realized it’s time to start getting ready for Easter! I not only love brainstorming some lovely Easter devotionals for my little ones but I also really enjoy planning out what books I am going to put in their Easter baskets this year! From literature that shares the gospel to beloved childhood classics, check out 15 Great Books To Put in Your Easter Baskets this Year.

There are tons of fantastic books to give your little ones! I could have easily made a list of 100, but I narrowed it down to the ones my 1-year-old and 3-year-old adore and beg me to read again and again! You will also find in this list more recommendations from the authors as well! So let’s drive in!

We just love the little The Little Blue Truck Series! Writer Alice Schertle and illustrator Jill McElmurry make such a delightful duo! You’ll instantly be charmed by the rhymes and fun in their books. While all of their works are fantastic, if you’re choosing one for Easter, go for “Little Blue Truck Spring Time”! It’s the perfect dose of cheer to welcome in the season of Spring! My little ones particularly enjoy the flap-opening pages that reveal adorable animal surprises!

Of course, I couldn’t recommend this wonderful book enough to include in your little ones’ Easter baskets! If you read my last post about The Best Hands-On Easter Devotional for Preschoolers, you’ll recall just how much I adore this book and how beautifully it captures the true meaning of Easter for your little ones! “Easter Is Coming” is definitely a must-have!

“Jesus Rose for Me” by Jared Kennedy helps toddlers and preschoolers grasp the true Christian significance of Easter in a personal and memorable manner. It is a cherished book in my home and would be a great addition to your Easter Baskets!

#4 The Jesus Storybook Bible

The Bible is an ideal addition to your little one’s Easter basket! With countless options available, there are many wonderful Bibles specifically designed for little ones. The Bible we chose to introduce to our kids is “The Jesus Storybook Bible.” It’s solid and includes a feature at the bottom of each page with key questions and takeaways from the story, making it perfect for sparking conversations and introductions. If you have older kids that are elementary or older, I recommend the “The Adventure Bible” and “ESV Childrens Bible”.

Even my 3-year-old son still enjoys flipping through them and feeling the pages from time to time. This set is a great addition to your collection of books!

The imagery creates a vivid picture for little ones, showing them how we can trust God, our good Shepard, and how deeply he cares and loves us. This book is a sweet reminder to read through when your little one is scared or dealing with some big changes in their lives!

During my son’s baby shower, a cherished friend gifted me this treasure of a book. As I read it, tears filled my eyes. “The Tale of Three Trees” offers a unique retelling of Jesus’ story from the perspective of three trees. Its powerful message is truly a gift to be shared. Every time I introduce this book to another mama, they too are moved by its message and sweetness! I highly recommend this to be a part of your Easter Baskets!

Oh “The Gruffalo” is just a fun family favorite! My son adores this book to the point where he’d ask for it before nap time and would drift off as I retold it. Needless to say, I’ve memorized every word! And you know what? I actually enjoy it too! It’s just so much fun! Another wonderful and fun addition to this book is “The Gruffalo’s Child.” Author Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler really are two great writers whose books are memorable and fun!

#10 The Smeeds and The Smoos

Who doesn’t like a story about a dragon?! “Zog” is just a cheerful classic tale about a dragon who goes to dragon school and meets a princess named Pearl who wants to be a doctor. Another fun classic written by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler! You can also find the sequel called “Zog and The Flying Doctors” that is just as fun as the first book!

I absolutely adore this book. ” It Starts with a Bee” is beautifully illustrated and simply told. It shows the simplicity of a bee and how irreplaceable bees are in our world by beautifully replacing the fear of bees and for the importance of them. I think this book is a must-have for Springtime and a perfect addition to your Easter Baskets.

In this heartwarming bedtime story, you get to experience the enduring love of a mother, and it’s unwaveringness, even in the midst of the smelliest or slimiest situations! “I love you stinky face” will leave your little one giggling while you are trying to blink back tears of sweetness!   1. This is such a good idea! I have a new baby that will be 8 months old at Easter and books would be a fun way to get her (sort of) excited about Easter since we can’t give her chocolate! Plus you can never have enough books ! Thanks for the good read!
